Hiya Fourth Graders!

I hope you had a chance to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather this weekend. Here is today’s schedule. It includes continuing to work on the first draft of your teaching book, and on your invention plan.

In addition to today’s Meet, tomorrow afternoon, you’ll have a chance to login to Google Meet to ask me questions about your work. I’m calling it “office hours,” and it’s something new that I’m trying. Come anytime between 1:30 and 2:20 and we can chat about anything you need help with.

News and Reminders:

  • Google Meet this afternoon at 2:00–be ready to share progress and questions about your inventions
  • Office hours on Google Meet tomorrow afternoon from 1:30-2:30

I hope your week starts off smoothly! See you soon!

Happy Friday, Fourth Graders!

I hope you had a successful Meet with Ms. Lori and Mr. Mwangi yesterday. I’m sorry I couldn’t be with you. I look forward to seeing you for our Meet on Monday.

Today’s schedule includes two math games you can choose from. It also asks you to share your progress in Writing and Science with me. However much you’ve completed, I’d like to see it so I can help you! You can submit it in Google Classroom, take a picture of it and email it to me–whatever works best.

Have a good Friday and a restful weekend, everyone!

Ni hao, Fourth Graders!

It was great to see lots of you yesterday at our Google Meet. I hope you enjoyed drawing with Ms. Neal.

Today you’ll have a chance to start describing your Invention! If you haven’t started working on an invention yet, it’s also not too late to begin. Just go back in Google Classroom in the Science folder and start with the “Interview” and “Brainstorming” pages.

I’ve created another daily schedule of work for today that includes links for you. I hope this makes it simpler to get work at home.

Hope you have a tremendous Tuesday!

Welcome back, Fourth Graders!

What strange weather we had this weekend! It sounds like many towns woke up to snow on Saturday morning.

This week your schedule will look different. Instead of a weekly schedule, I will share a schedule for each day with you in the Morning Message here. When you open it, there will be links for activities on sites like Khan Academy and Lexia, and links to files you can print at home. You will still have assignments posted in Google Classroom as well. Here is the first one for today: schedule of today’s activities.

I hope this makes it easier for you to find assignments.

News and Reminders:

  • Google Meet this afternoon at 2:00
  • Bring paper and something to draw with to our Meet. Ms. Neal will teach you some skills to help sketch your inventions.

See you soon!

Ahoy ahoy, Fourth Graders!

It was exciting to talk with you yesterday as you start to become inventors. Today you’ll have the option of finishing your Interviewing page, or beginning the Brainstorming section of your Invention Journal.

If we were at school today, I would be handing out stickers for completed Reading Logs. I’ve found some digital stickers through Google Classroom, and will try to share them with you if you submit your Reading Log. At school we would also have PE today, so try to find a way to get some exercise at home. You might choose some activities from Coach Sadie’s blog.

I hope you have a good weekend!

Today you will begin working on your Invention Journal. This is the first step towards creating something for the Invention Fair. I’ll answer questions you may have about it at our Meet.
